This lesson explains how to answer the part. It is not a timed practice set. Skim a longer informational text to map paragraphs, then jump from each statement to the right place, or to not given.
One short label per paragraph from the topic sentence. That map is your index.
Name what it is asking: a number, a condition, a who. Then choose a paragraph from the map.
Read only that paragraph. If the meaning matches, including paraphrase, that is the place.
If no paragraph states it, the answer is not given. A related word in the wrong paragraph is a trap.
Prompt
A Homeowners in Ward 3 can apply for a heat-pump rebate from 1 April. B The rebate covers 30% of equipment costs, up to $3,000, and is paid after installation. C Applications must include a licensed contractor's quote and last year's electricity bill. D Suites and rental units are not eligible in this round. Statement: "Rental units are excluded from this round of the rebate."
Model
D Suites and rental units are not eligible in this round. Answer: D.
Why it works
Reading the whole passage linearly for every statement.
Matching a repeated word that sits in the wrong paragraph.
Treating 'not given' as 'I disagree' rather than 'the text does not say this'.
