Good morning. In local news, the city council has approved a $4.5 million investment to expand the downtown public transit network. The project will add three new bus routes and extend the existing subway line by two stations. City councillor Patricia Lin says the expansion is expected to reduce traffic congestion by approximately 15 percent over the next five years. An estimated 20,000 additional commuters will be served daily. Environmental groups have praised the decision. However, some local business owners have raised concerns about construction disruptions during the 18-month build period.
