This lesson explains how to answer the part. It is not a timed practice set. Name what is unusual first. Then speculate how and why. Don't treat the picture as a normal scene.
The one fact that makes this picture a problem to explain.
What else is in the frame that confirms it isn't a normal scene.
A plausible speculation, promotion, dare, accident, tied to what you can see.
Leave it unusual. Don't decide it was 'just a festival' and walk away.
Prompt
The picture shows a man in a life jacket sitting in a yellow kayak on a shopping-mall escalator, paddle across his lap. Shoppers are watching; a security guard looks unsure. Describe the unusual situation and explain it.
Model
The unusual thing is the kayak. A man in a life jacket is sitting in a yellow kayak that's riding a mall escalator, paddle across his lap, as if this were a river. Around him, shoppers are doing ordinary things, a woman with a stroller is waiting at the bottom, a teenager is filming, and a security guard looks unsure whether to stop the escalator. Bags from a sporting-goods store are still in the kayak, so it looks as if he bought it upstairs and decided this was the way down. My guess is a store promotion that got out of hand, or a dare that is now a problem for mall staff. Whatever the reason, this is not a normal way to leave a mall.
Why it works
Treating the unusual image as a normal scene.
Speculating without first naming what is odd.
Normalising the picture in the close: 'it's probably just an event'.
